F2 motor-method mixture temperature not reaching target — heater or meter first?

On motor method, mixture temperature is part of the method state. If the display never reaches the laboratory’s target, separate a heater fault from a sensor/display fault before opening the carburetor.

Order of checks

Confirm the unit is actually on motor method (not research leftovers). Verify sensor location and cable. Then heater power and thermal contact. Related: octane inspection.
